Review of today's lesson: new words, the new tense Perfekt (ich habe … gemacht), zum / nach / in die, things you take along, and many small words.
New words from today's lesson. Hide the English and test yourself.
With the Perfekt you talk about the past, for example what you did today or last week. Ich habe gearbeitet = I worked / I have worked. German uses one form for both.

The recipe: take the verb, cut off -en, put ge- in front and -t at the end.
spielen → spiel → gespielt
haben changes, the Partizip never changes: ich habe gespielt, er hat gespielt, wir haben gespielt.
Same idea as können, müssen, wollen: haben stands on position 2, the Partizip goes to the very end.
arbeiten: the stem ends with -t, so we add -et: gearbeitet.
sein stays war: Ich war im Fitnessstudio. (Not: ich habe … gewesen.)
Today you heard trainiert: verbs on -ieren have no ge-. We do them later.

for places and people:

for cities and most countries:

for countries with die:

And in the past with war: in dem = im. Ich war im Supermarkt. But: Ich war in Deutschland.

Only der changes: Der Laptop ist neu. → Ich nehme den Laptop mit. → Ich nehme meinen Laptop mit. die and das stay the same. This is the "Ausnahme" from today.
trotzdem, gerade, selten, wieder, langsam, langweilig, nach … Read the first sentence for a hint.
